Meter Verification Procedure
- A reasonable investigation and justification should be made for the verification of a device. On request, an Augos support representative will do a thorough remote investigation to confirm what further action is required
This includes:
- 3 months Bill Verifications (only applicable to billing points)
- Confirmation that the correct tariff has been applied on Augos. (only applicable to billing points)
- Confirmation That the NERSA tariffs loaded to our platform match what the municipality/Landlord/Eskom have charging.
- Raw data Inspection to confirm the following issues are not present
- Missing phases
- No Neutral Connection
- Missing Phases
- Negative Polarity
- Mismatch of source of Voltage and CT connections
- The remote investigation for existing Augos clients, with a valid service agreement and up to date monthly invoicing, is done at no expense to the customer.
- Should the remote investigation find the cause of inaccuracy, a quote will be supplied to the customer for any remedial work required.
- Once the remote investigation has been concluded, if no obvious problems have been found, and the potential inaccuracies have not been dispelled, a quote will be supplied to the customer for a site investigation, which will include:
- Visual inspection of the meter and metering equipment in order to confirm the following issues are not present:
- Damage due to outside forces.
- Incorrect CT ratio applied
- Incorrect VT ratio applied
- Voltage connection issue
- Missing phases
- No Neutral Connection
- Floating Neutral
- Missing Phases
- Open Circuit CT’s
- Parallel instead of Series Connection
- Negative Polarity
- Incorrect Summation connection
- Mismatch of source of Voltage and CT connections
- Some issues may not be obvious with a visual inspection. These include:
- Manufacturing defect.
- Damage due to outside forces.
- Manufacturing defect.
- Device installed in the incorrect location.
(Site knowledge and wiring diagrams may be needed to determine this.)
- If neither the remote or site investigation showed obvious problems, and potential inaccuracies have still not been dispelled, a quote will be supplied to the customer for a 7 day Logging exercise.
- A standalone data logger will be installed for a period of 7 days.
- The data will then be compared to the Augos metering data for the same period.
- A report will then be supplied to the customer showing the variance between the logger and Augos meter.
- If a significant variance exists, Argos support staff will quote the customer on the required remedial work.
